Get To Know Our Recruiters

We’ve never made it a secret that we believe strong recruitment relationships are built properly, face to face, through honest conversations.

Meeting your recruiter in person, inviting them into your business and having a genuine conversation still goes a long way. It gives you a real sense of who you’re dealing with, how they work, and whether there’s proper understanding there, rather than just requirements being passed back and forth.

These early conversations are where trust is built. We’re not fans of transactional recruitment, not just because of the reputation it’s earned, but because it simply doesn’t work. Real partnerships start with honest discussions about expectations, how a business operates, and what success actually looks like on both sides.

This is why we like this time of year, because it’s made for these types of meetings. No more being booked up before Christmas, no more needing to settle in for the year, instead we’re out here playing coffee shop bingo.

We call this stage of the process Getting to Know Your Recruiter.

And because we genuinely believe it matters, it felt like the right time to stop talking about it and start introducing the people behind that mindset.

We’ll start with our Directors...

Go-To Cocktail: Negroni

Pet Peeve: Arsenal fans

What’s a day in the life of you like?
Every day can be different when you’re running a business, which makes it exciting and stressful at the same time. My days usually involve a mix of meetings around figures, targets, board discussions, banking, marketing and reviews. There’s also constant work on P&L, projections and budgets. On top of that, there’s still the phone work, which I genuinely love, speaking with clients who I’m lucky enough to now call good friends. There’s always more going on than you can list.

Matt Pask

Position: Logistics Director

Favourite TV Show: Landman

Last Movie You Watched: Die Hard

The Song You’re Loving Right Now: Starship – Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now

Favourite Takeaway: Turkish, closely followed by Thai

Go-To Cocktail: Piña Colada

Pet Peeve: Wiping down the area where tea and coffee are made!

What’s a day in the life of you like?
My day starts with a 05:30 alarm, gym for 06:00, then into the office by 08:00 at the latest. Coffee first, then admin while the team arrives and sets up the day. After that it’s recruit, recruit, recruit until it’s time to head home for dinner. Evenings are then spent doing the dad taxi duties, before finally getting some sleep.

Tom Evans

Position: Associate MEP Director

Last Movie You Watched: Home Alone 2

The Song You’re Loving Right Now: Tommy Farrow – Let’s Just

Favourite Takeaway: Thai

Go-To Cocktail: Whiskey Sour

Pet Peeve: Drivers who don’t acknowledge or thank you when you give way.

What’s a day in the life of you like?
Ideally it starts with a few hours of sleep, baby dependent. Either quietly creeping out the door to avoid waking anyone or navigating school and nursery drop-offs. Then it’s full steam ahead at work, getting stuck into recruitment with the team. Evenings are for spending time with the kids, bath and bedtime routines, house prep for the next day, then rinse and repeat. Mondays are the exception, that’s squash night.

Favourite Takeaway: Turkish

Go-To Cocktail: Amaretto Sour

What’s a day in the life of you like?
My days usually start with coming into work and seeing what chaos needs sorting. From there it’s about making sure our clients and candidates are happy and everything is running smoothly. At the weekends I spend time with my son, usually football or gaming.

Okay, that’s all of our consultants, hopefully you feel like you know them a little better now. Like we said, getting to know your recruiter comes down to understanding who you’re dealing with, how they work and how they will work for you.

Not every conversation needs to lead to an immediate outcome, but the strongest recruitment relationships tend to start with an honest one. Taking the time to meet, talk openly and build trust early on makes everything that follows work better.

That’s how we will always operate. And if the consultant in your sector seemed likeable enough, then please get in touch, they're all raring to sit down, grab a coffee, and start there.

And here’s wishing you a fantastic year in 2026.
