Hi, I’m Gordon and I oversee our M&E Design desk here at Streamline Recruitment in our central London office.

I typically recruit for senior members of both Mechanical & Electrical design teams, with a focus on recruiting for specialist design consultancies.

I began my career in Recruitment 4 years ago when I joined a specialist consultancy in the Residential Development industry, working with some of the most renowned names within that market, helping to provide commercial and site-based specialists with opportunities. Having developed an affinity towards the construction industry I have since spent close to 2 years with Hays, working within the highly competitive Civil/Utilities market. 

I decided to move to Streamline to pursue a market within Construction that has always caught my eye for the intricacy and highly skilled nature of M&E work.

The day-to-day of Recruitment is, in truth a relatively simple task, but the difficulty comes in being genuinely credible and taking it upon yourself to learn from those within the market you hire for. From there you can add real value and offer consultative advice.

While I may not stick to my own advice at times, I think you should always at least attempt to give people the right guidance and be clear. We may not always get people the ideal job or find the right individual for our clients in our search, but if you show that you have the best intentions of all parties at heart, you can’t go too far wrong.

When I’m not in my Oxfords and button up at work, I’m in a pair of Hokas and a hoody on a run with Arctic Monkeys on repeat. My knees and ankles probably won’t be in the best state in 30 years time, but for now I’ll enjoy racking up the miles. The best birthday present someone could ever give me simply be a cinema ticket or a book. I was a late comer to the joys of reading but sitting down with a coffee and classic crime thriller is my idea of bliss. Lastly, I can never get enough of any sport you could care to mention (barring snormula 1, sorry Drive to Survive fans). The amount I could have achieved with the time I spend watching sport doesn’t bare thinking about… would I change it? Probably not.
